Richard Hamer MBE

Richard is responsible for BAE Systems’ global education & skills strategy and the Company’s future talent pipeline.
He is a former chair of the UK Aerospace and Airworthiness Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group, and has led and supported the development of more than 20 apprenticeship standards.
Richard plays a key role in the company’s commitment to Movement to Work, a charity which provides opportunities for young unemployed people, and established BAE Systems’ STEM roadshow for schools, in partnership with the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, which recently engaged with its one millionth pupil.
In 2021, Richard was awarded an MBE for his commitment to young people and supporting social mobility in the defence sector.
