About
James Sproule was appointed as Chief Economist of Handelsbanken in May 2020. Between 2014-2017 he was the Chief Economist and Director of Policy at the Institute of Directors. Prior to working at the IoD he was head of UK Research with Accenture. He started his financial career as a merchant bank economist working with Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Kleinwort. He regularly comments on macro-economic issues and a large part of his work involves travelling around the UK speaking to clients and businesses. James has particular interests in the property market and entrepreneurialism.
