About

My research sits at the intersection of physical and human geography and is primarily focused on citizen participation in water management, with a particular interest in flooding and flood management. I draw from a broad range of methods from numerical modelling and traditional physical field research to participatory action research.

As a researcher I have a background in catchment management, flood risk modelling, analysis and management, community resilience, and water management. I have a background in flood risk consultancy and continue to engage closely with practitioners in water and flood management.

I am currently delivering a Defra-funded project exploring new approaches to community-led Sustainable Drainage Systems, as well as developing research in community resilience and water management.
