About

Sarah researches social justice matters pertaining to crime, social harms and health and social inequalities. Much of her research is around alcohol, drugs and gambling. Prior to working at Staffordshire University Sarah worked in a strategic management role helping partnerships work more effectively together to tackle poverty, inequalities and crime related issues. The role included assisting in developing cross-organisational mentoring at leadership level. Sarah has also commissioned mentoring projects that addressed issues in society. She continues to input into strategic partnerships through research to help with action plan forming and service development and design. Sarah engages students in professional research projects under the umbrella of the Staffordshire University Crime and Society Group. She also has practitioner experience of working within the Criminal Justice System with offenders (both young offenders and adult offenders) in a therapeutic capacity addressing addiction issues. She went on to manage and supervise practice of therapeutic practitioners which also involved delivering staff training. Other services purchased our training including prison staff working on addressing addictive behaviours.
