About

I am Professor of International Economics at the University of St.Gallen and Director of SIAW-HSG. Currently, I serve as Vice President for Institutes and Executive Education at the University. Previously, I have been Head of the Economics Department and Dean of the School of Economics & Political Science. Further, I am Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London). I earned my PhD in Economics at the University of Zurich and have held visiting appointments at various universities. From 2007–2011, I was Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Bern.

My research interests lie in macroeconomics, distribution, international trade and economic growth. I have published extensively on these subjects, including two books as well as several articles in leading journals.
